I believe in equipping organisations with the tools they need to identify goals, develop strategies, monitor progress and adjust, before getting out of their way as they power ahead.
My aim is to help you and your team develop in their roles and build capability within your team.
This can include mentoring senior executives; coaching or training individuals and teams; or engagement on specific, time-bound projects but always with the aim of developing you and your team.
I describe my self as a recovering accountant and accidental salesperson. What that means is that while my financial ability underpins all I do for your business, thanks to my many different roles I have developed skills in sales, marketing, strategy and business planning as well as organisational development.
I am a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years’ experience in business leadership and senior finance roles in Ireland and overseas.
In a varied career I have been Chief Executive of a local media group, Business Unit Leader in multi-national companies in Ireland and overseas, CFO in a fast-growing start-up, Strategic Development Lead in a multi-national as well as leading finance functions in Ireland, UK and Middle East.
In that time I have, amongst many other things:
- turned around businesses
- developed and implemented sales programmes
- raised and re-negotiated financing
- mentored and coached senior executives
- led global strategic development initiatives
I now mainly support organisations which need help in Business Analysis, Strategy Development, Financial Planning & Management as well as dealing with Uncertainty (e.g. BREXIT, COVID-19, etc.).
I do this through Mentoring, Coaching/Training and Interim or Project Management, depending on the needs of the client.
I have been an active board member of Galway Chamber since 2007 and President from 2018-2020 as well as President of Local Ireland (regional newspapers), President of Irish Management Institute (Galway) and a member of many boards.
